Challenge
15 August, 2022 was India’s 75th Independence Day. In these seven and a half decades India had been through many pivotal moments. Our task was to help Google tell the story of these 75 years in an authentic and engaging manner.
Approach
We decided to create a campaign which highlighted iconic events throughout Independent India’s history. Our ‘India ki Udaan’ ('India takes flight') campaign was kicked off with a film created solely from archival footage. From the black and white of India's first election, to the iconic 90s look, we captured 75 years of India's history in 100 odd seconds.
Apart from the film we collaborated with artists to create digital kites showcasing landmark historical moments. These were featured across Google products including on the Google Arts & Culture page and as an Easter Egg on Google Search. And also on various social and digital platforms.
