Strategy Director, Singapore

The role

As our Strategy Director, You will lead the development of (mostly digital first) communication and content strategies for brands, informed by consumer behaviours and cultural insights. This will often involve collaboration with clients to define and refine the brief, prioritise objectives and discuss possible approaches and territories. As we move through the creative process, you will also support in developing user journeys and effectiveness models.

You will be confident in conducting thorough briefing sessions to inform and inspire creative and technology teams, working with them throughout to shape the strategic rationale for client presentations, as well as proposing campaign cadence and messaging frameworks.

As part of your role, you will be leading the region's Strategy function working closely with our Executive Creative Director, Managing Director, Senior Creatives and Producers to lead our strategic response across existing and new business opportunities. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with Strategists in our other regions.

  • Strategic – Proficient with developing clear and comprehensive briefs, frameworks, and marketing strategies, backed up by relevant data
  • Insightful – A passion for understanding people’s attitudes and behaviours to make a more impactful connection, leaning on qualitative or quantitative research where appropriate
  • Digital – A foundation in digital marketing, confident in developing strategies that leverage a range of touch points including online video advertising, websites, apps, social media, CRM, influencer outreach (to name a few)
  • Storyteller – Confident, coherent, and compelling with both written and verbal communications
  • Collaborative – Proactive with involving relevant team members, clients, and third parties if appropriate
  • Entrepreneurial – A keen eye for spotting big opportunities based on market, category, or consumer trends to help our clients (or Toaster) make the most of these opportunities
  • Critical Thinker – Ability to clearly critique and rationalise a range of work from the strategic to the conceptual, grounded by business objectives and consumer insights
  • Rigorous – Ability to quickly obtain a comprehensive understanding of our clients’ brands, products/services, and target audiences


  • Agency experience – A minimum of 8 years of working in a Strategist/Planner role in a creative agency
  • Regional experience - Experience working on campaigns in Singapore and across the SEA market
  • Established Strategist - Experience working at Strategy Director level, or a strong Senior Strategist ready to step into a Director role
  • Mentorship - Experience mentoring/line managing other Strategists and working collaboratively
  • Ability to multitask - Comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously, preferably across different regions and markets
