Business Director, Singapore

As a Business Director, you are a leader within the Client Management team and oversee all client relationships for existing and potential new businesses. You will be required to have a thorough understanding of all areas of the business and be responsible for all aspects of your accounts working directly with clients. You will also create, lead and support new business opportunities.

You must be self-motivated and focused on driving business development and building client relationships to ensure strategic growth. Ensuring that expectations are managed and delivered, within a profitable environment is a must and will require a high level of financial acumen and team motivation.

New Business & Business Development

  • Lead global strategic growth of new business within Toaster, Asia Pacific
  • Take ownership and lead new business opportunities
  • Proactively identify and seek new revenue opportunities with existing clients
  • Strive to better client and stakeholder relations
  • Work with team to build and maintain a client business development plan on an ongoing basis identifying specific opportunities and action(s) required

Internal Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for managing the Client Management team
  • Manage resourcing across all client services teams to ensure full utilization at all times
  • Manage organizational structure of Client Management team, ensure alignment across the company’s overall strategic direction
  • Play an active role in the operational and strategic direction of the Singapore and Indonesia office
  • Facilitate monthly financial reviews with the team and Finance Director for accurate reconciliation
  • Ensure succession plan is in place for the complete Client Management team and liaise with other department heads regarding wider team -members where appropriate
  • Coach and develop the Client Management team in their role/ capacity to ensure achievement of their Personal Development Plan including -performance management and training needs etc.
  • Mentor team members, especially regarding, people, client and workload management

Client Management

  • Oversee and lead implementation of existing and new relationships
  • Take overall responsibility for managing clients in your region and have an overview of regional hubs as appropriate
  • Act as point of escalation on all client related issues for the Client Management team
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with key senior stakeholders, senior budget-holders and/or influencing clients and agencies, manage perceptions and expectations
  • Organize and lead regular operational review meetings with the client
  • Define workflow for existing and new business accounts working with Senior Management across Toaster


  • Overall budgeting and P&L responsibility for all clients
  • Agree workflows linked to output based costing/ rate cards for all new account(s)
  • Ensure full compliance with all financial procedures and policies


  • Strong knowledge of responsive design, interactive communications, brand development and video production
  • Knowledge of the creative process
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals and typography
  • Ability to judge creative concepts and copy where required
  • Ability to judge portfolios (along with Creatives) of additional resources such as illustrators, animators
  • Ability to brainstorm where required
  • Thorough understanding of production requirements for both online and offline elements
  • Working knowledge of Google products: YouTube, Google+, Google Play, Android, Google Hangouts


  • Broad knowledge of HTML5, CSS
  • Gather an understanding of specific client development requirements and infrastructures
  • Ability to discuss technical solutions with team members and clients
  • Excellent understanding of Google Drive, Docs and Hangouts
  • Working knowledge of Workbook - timesheets, expenses, reports and resourcing
  • Ability to use JIRA
  • Willingness to learn new software as required
