People Coordinator, London

The Role

You’ll be the glue that holds our People Operations together and keeps our processes running smoothly throughout the employee life cycle. As a master of organisation, you’ll work with processes and can identify where processes need to be introduced or improved.

Being employee-facing, you are a support for our people and know when you need to escalate concerns or matters. You understand the culture and direction of the organisation and what’s important to our teams.

Working with our People Partner, you’ll be building a trusting and innovative employee experience and culture at Toaster across our four global teams; London, San Franciscio, Delhi and Singapore.


  • First point of contact for employees on administrative, operational matters or advice and guidance as needed and escalating where required.
  • Delivering end-to-end People Operations activities from onboarding to offboarding, supporting payroll in our regions, benefits management, and the company’s cyclical processes such as annual reviews, pay reviews, and contractual changes.
  • Managing the administrative elements of contractor onboarding and management, ensuring IR35 compliance.
  • Manage Google Workspace access for all employees and freelancers
  • Report monthly and (bi-monthly for San Francisco) payroll changes to our payroll providers and global finance team for all regions
  • Prepare employee data and stats reports for the People Partner and global or regional management teams
  • Manage job advertisements and assist with screening CVs and applications for open positions
  • Support and coordinate Toaster’s DE&I and wellbeing strategy
  • Support the People Partner on culture and talent initiatives and projects
  • Identify new and improve existing processes for efficiency and effectiveness purposes
  • Ad-hoc admin and operational tasks assigned by People Partner and global or regional management

What we want from you!

  • Proven end-to-end management of the People Operations lifecycle in a fast-paced and developing environment.
  • A good grounding in Employment Law and IR35 legislation with experience working with both employees and contractors.
  • Comfortable working with People/HR databases and systems (HRIS/ATS)
  • A self-starter with a drive to make things happen at pace
  • Naturally people oriented and a confident communicator
  • Driven by organisation, process and efficiency
  • Detail oriented, can easily spot an error and ensure everything is accurate

  • Experience working with global teams
  • Experience working for a tech or advertising/marketing company
  • Experience working with FreshTeams (HRIS)
  • Comfortable working with the Google Workspace suite
