Toaster is an award-winning Advertising and Design Studio, born in London but now spanning across the globe with offices in Singapore, Delhi and San Francisco. For over 10 years we’ve collaborated with some of the biggest brands, including Google, Samsung and YouTube.


As our Strategist for Toaster London, you will be tasked with inspiring and influencing our clients and project teams, working collaboratively to build strategies and concept ideas that result in innovative campaigns, platforms and products.

The role of Strategist is to understand the client’s business problem, consumer insights, digital opportunities and the broader cultural landscape in order to distill strategic recommendations for our clients and inspire our creative teams. You will lead this process in close collaboration with our Creative and Production teams, with oversight from our Global Strategy Director.

Beyond this core role, you will contribute to new business efforts and have the opportunity to work with other Toaster offices (e.g. San Francisco), as and when additional support is required.

In this role you will be a visionary force, a compelling storyteller, and a trusted partner for clients to be the voice of what's great and what's next.


  • Work on a range of projects and deliverables, such as websites, branding, product innovation and digital campaigns and content strategies.
  • Independently dissect client briefs to identify the core problem that the agency needs to solve.
  • Produce captivating, informative and focused creative briefs for the creative team.
  • Contribute to brand and marketing discussions with our clients to guide and advise on their core marketing needs.
  • Lead strategic conversations during business development, disrupting their brand vision with new opportunities derived from emerging behaviours and technologies.
  • Connect on a regular basis with our Global Strategy Director to share progress on key initiatives.
  • Assist with developing a vision for our clients’ brand presences across relevant touch points.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to support strategic thinking and tactical opportunities.
  • Undertaking different research approaches such as stakeholder workshops, surveys, focus groups, and research tools such as GlobalWebIndex
  • Perform competitive analysis and identify gaps and opportunities in the marketplace.
  • Ensure that all activity is impactful and measurable, with tracking in place to capture learnings that can be applied to future work.
  • Craft effective copy when required for internal and external projects.


  • Agency experience – A minimum of 3 years of working in a Strategist/Planner role in a creative agency
  • Methodical – Proficient with developing clear and comprehensive briefs, frameworks, and marketing strategies, backed up by relevant data
  • Insightful – A passion for understanding people’s attitudes and behaviours to make a more impactful connection, leaning on qualitative or quantitative research where appropriate
  • Digital – A foundation in digital marketing, confident in developing strategies that leverage a range of touch points including online video advertising, websites, apps, social media, CRM, influencer outreach (to name a few)
  • Effective – Committed to ensuring that all activity is impactful and measurable, with tracking in place to capture learnings that can be applied to future work
  • Storyteller – Confident, coherent, and compelling with both written and verbal communications
  • Collaborative – Proactive with involving relevant team members, clients, and third parties if appropriate
  • Entrepreneurial – A keen eye for spotting big opportunities based on market, category, or consumer trends to help our clients (or Toaster) make the most of these opportunities

  • Tech competent – Ability to construct digestible and engaging presentations using Google Slides, MS PowerPoint or Keynote (Toaster primarily uses G Suite products)
