Global People Partner, London

The role

Working directly with the Founders, you will be the key driver of Toaster’s people and culture operations across our four offices.

A natural ‘people’ person, you will apply your excellent communication skills to build relationships with our regional team leads, operations staff, and line managers.

You will ensure our people and talent strategy aligns with Toaster’s culture and goals. You will be responsible for developing a positive and progressive experience throughout the employment lifecycle of our staff. You will have knowledge, experience and ideas on how to make the employee experience and talent level known both internally and externally.

With a keen eye for detail and process, you will play a key role in designing the global people operations structure to ensure the global operation runs smoothly and effectively, and ensure consistency and quality is maintained across the agency.


  • Lead the People, Talent, and Culture strategy for Toaster globally
  • As part of the global management team, advise and guide on all aspects of the business where People and Talent are concerned and affected
  • Define global People and Talent strategy frameworks, guidelines and structures
  • Identify new and improve existing processes for efficiency and effectiveness purposes
  • Develop and maintain a strong and realistic diversity and inclusion strategy, identifying priorities and goals
  • Be the ambassador for culture at Toaster. Identify and understand cultural nuances between our regions and develop appropriate initiatives in recognition of these
  • Provide thought pieces and discussion points to be shared internally and externally
  • Coach and support line managers with leading and nurturing their teams
  • Oversee the recruitment process for open roles, working with local external recruitment suppliers if required
  • Manage and oversee all employee relations and performance issues
  • Build a talent pipeline and succession plans for current and future team structures
  • Provide mentorship and growth opportunities to the People team

Essential requirements

  • Naturally people-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English
  • 6+ years of experience in a People/HR function within a creative agency or industry
  • Line management and mentorship experience
  • Experience working with international markets, in addition to the UK
  • Strong UK employee relations and employment law knowledge
  • Driven by a desire to support our people and constantly seek positive change

Desirable requirements

  • CIPD level 5 or equivalent qualified
  • Experience in a small, independent company working directly with Founders
  • Experience working with US, India and/or Singapore markets
